Reading Tutor Program - Volunteers Wanted
At MHPS we are very privileged to have a reading tutor program which provides valuable support in reading for some children in Years 1 and 2. The program includes intensive practice in several specific reading sub-skills and it operates with a supervising teacher and the invaluable assistance of (50+!) volunteer tutors who work individually with a child (or 2) for ½ - 1 hour once a week. Participating children attend a 30 minute reading session every morning between 9am and 10am, in the Reading Room, which is at the end of the Library block.
